To cruise or not to cruise? That is the question most travelers ask at some point in their world travels.

The benefits of cruising are simple - you get to see many places while feeling at home in your stateroom. You can unpack, let someone else do the driving, and enjoy a journey full of fine dining, entertainment and visits to multiple countries. Most cruise lines these days include an excursion in each port. On a Viking cruise, you’ll get a city tour (walking or bus depending on the size of the city!) that includes the history and most popular sites. There are always optional interest tours for an additional price such as wineries, sailing, beach days, and/or food and beverage walking tours. We’ve done everything from wineries to falconry to cooking classes to authentic bath/spa experiences!
Cruise vacations are also easy breezy to plan. You choose your itinerary and then call Zac who will provide you with the cruise line that suits you! Then, you choose your excursions and off you go!
If experiencing only one day in a city is not for you, you’ll want a more immersive vacation. Some travelers prefer three nights or more in each destination to really engage with the culture of the destination! You’ll be able to eat at multiple restaurants, linger at the major sites, shop till you drop and get to know the people. Multiple days in one place give you a chance to have a “chill local” day and just leisurely take it all in! No rush, people watching at a café, browsing in small shops, and just embracing a new home city, town or village. We’ve had days breaking off pieces of a baguette as we walked around town, eaten cheese and meats before entering a museum and fed some cows before enjoying a pint in an old town pub.
Arranging a more independent tour takes a little more time and expertise. Zac has the patience of a saint and books full of suggestions for even the most discerning traveler! Give us a shout and explore your next destination soon!
